module <em>Design Practice 2<\/em>, with the theme <em>Routes &amp; Routines<\/em>, we explored the topic of transition of passenger transportation as part of a five-person group project. Specifically, we asked ourselves: How can we promote and establish a sustainable transport culture within society, whilst ensuring that the transport environment is shared more equitably among all road users?<\/p><p>The overall concept of <em>ur:base<\/em> is extremely comprehensive and, in addition to the renderings shown here, also includes the design of an app and a corporate identity. Target audience and market analyses were carried out and a suitable advertising concept was developed. Further details about the project and about my own design process can be found on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/htw-design-practice.moniteurs.de\/urbase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #00b3b1; text-decoration: underline;\">a separate website.<\/span><\/a><\/span> The project participants are: Sofia Gerstlacher, Julian K\u00fchme, Nico R\u00fctzel, Helena Strauch-Stoll and Wenting Zhang<\/p><p>My project partner <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #00b3b1;\"><a style=\"color: #00b3b1; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sofiagerstlacher.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sofia Gerstlacher<\/a><\/span><\/span> was invited by the industry association \u201cWir gestalten Dresden\u201d to present the mobility concept of <em>ur:base<\/em> at <em>Cosmo Wissenschaftsforum<\/em> This took place on March 1, 2023, as part of the event <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #00b3b1;\"><a style=\"color: #00b3b1; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wir-gestalten-dresden.de\/veranstaltung\/showreel-architektur-trifft-design-impulse-fuer-nachhaltigkeit-und-staedtebau-in-dresden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cArchitecture Meets Design\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/span>\u00a0.<\/p><p>As we worked together to develop and refine our project, we first had extensive discussions about community, culture, and visibility. As the project progressed, a structured yet dynamic division of tasks emerged within our group, and each member\u2019s progress was presented to the group and coordinated during regular meetings.<\/p><p>Together with my project partner Julian K\u00fchme, my primary focus was on the product design aspect of the project. In addition to creating the CAD models of our so-called <em>Mobility Hubs<\/em> (see cover image), my main task was to develop and design a bike rack with a built-in security lock, which can be used through the <em>ur:base-App.<\/em> bedient wird.<\/p><p>The bicycle parking spaces are one of the most important basic elements of our <em>Mobility Hubs<\/em>. On the one hand, they serve a practical purpose for cyclists, but they also play a symbolic role. The <em>Mobility Hubs<\/em> are intended to illustrate that where a single car would normally park in a public space, there is easily enough room for up to four bicycles and an entire bike Wir stellten uns konkret die Frage: Wie kann man eine nachhaltige Verkehrskultur f\u00f6rdern bzw. gesellschaftlich etablieren und dabei den Verkehrsraum gleichberechtigter zwischen allen Verkehrsteilnehmenden aufteilen? Das gesamte Konzept von ur:base ist \u00e4u\u00dferst umfangreich und umfasst neben den hier gezeigten Renderings auch die Gestaltung einer App und einer Corporate Identity. Es wurden Zielgruppen- und Marktanalysen durchgef\u00fchrt und ein passendes Werbekonzept entwickelt. Weitere Einzelheiten zum Projekt und zu meinem eigenen Entwurfsprozess sind auf einer separaten Website aufgef\u00fchrt. Die Projektbeteiligten sind: Sofia Gerstlacher, Julian K\u00fchme, Nico R\u00fctzel, Helena Strauch-Stoll und Wenting Zhang Meine Projektpartnerin Sofia Gerstlacher wurde vom Branchenverband &#8222;Wir gestalten Dresden&#8220; eingeladen, das Mobilit\u00e4tskonzept von ur:base in einem Impulsvortrag im Cosmo Wissenschaftsforum vorzustellen. Dieser fand am 1. M\u00e4rz 2023 im Rahmen der Veranstaltung &#8222;Architektur trifft Design&#8220;\u00a0statt. Bei der gemeinsamen Entwicklung und Ausarbeitung unseres Projektes sprachen wir zun\u00e4chst ausgiebig \u00fcber die Themen Gemeinschaft, Kultur und Sichtbarkeit. Im weiteren Verlauf entstand innerhalb unserer Gruppe eine strukturierte, aber dynamische Aufgabenverteilung und die jeweiligen Fortschritte aller Mitglieder wurden in regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Treffen gegenseitig pr\u00e4sentiert und aufeinander abgestimmt. Zusammen mit meinem Projektpartner Julian K\u00fchme lag mein prim\u00e4rer Aufgabenbereich mehr im produktdesignbezogenen Teil des Projektes. Neben der Umsetzung der CAD-Modelle unserer sogenannten Mobility Hubs (siehe Titelbild) lag meine Hauptaufgabe in der Entwicklung und Gestaltung einer Fahrradhalterung mit eingebautem Sicherheitsschloss, welches \u00fcber die ur:base-App bedient wird. Die Fahrradstellpl\u00e4tze bilden eines der wichtigsten Grundelemente unserer Mobility Hubs. Sie erf\u00fcllen einerseits eine praktische Funktion f\u00fcr die Fahrradfahrenden, spielen aber zudem auch eine symbolische Rolle. Die Mobility Hubs sollen verdeutlichen, dass dort, wo im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum normalerweise ein einzelnes Auto parken w\u00fcrde, auch problemlos vier Fahrr\u00e4der und ein ganzer Unterstand Platz
